Small Space Organization Ideas for Modern Apartments

Today I’m going to share some things with you that you probably never even thought of before. I live in a small flat myself, but looking at my house today, no one can say that there’s a shortage of space. It’s not that my flat is big, but I’ve organized it in such a way that every inch is being utilized.

You can do the same. I’m not going to give you any common tips. I’m going to tell you new methods that will change your thinking.

Change Your Thinking, And Everything Will Change:

One day, I was standing in my house and wondering, “Why is this house so small?” I had a two-bedroom flat, but it felt like everything was scattered around. Then I noticed something: the problem wasn’t the house, but my thinking.

I started thinking: “Why don’t I make this place smart?” And then began my journey to build a smart home. Today, I’ll tell you what I did.

20 New Tricks I Tried Myself:

1. Corner Magic:

The corners of our home are the most wasted. I made every corner useful. In the corner of the drawing room, I installed a triangular shelf where I keep books and decorative items. In the corner of the kitchen, I installed a corner rack that’s perfect for spices. In the corner of the bathroom, I installed a small corner basket where I keep shampoo and soap.

2. Learn to Urinate Furniture:

I chose furniture that allows for air circulation. That means wall-mounted furniture. I have a wall-mounted study table, a wall-mounted TV, and a wall-mounted dressing table. This not only looks good but also frees up floor space.

3. Psychology of Colors:

I didn’t just use light colors, but I also tried smart color combinations. I painted one wall dark and the other three walls light. This makes the room appear larger and more interesting.

4. Secret Storage:

I created secret storage spaces in my home that aren’t visible. For example, I built drawers under the staircase. I built a window seat with built-in storage. I even built storage behind the mirror.

5. Foldable World:

My home is filled with foldable items these days. I have a foldable dining table, a foldable office desk, and a foldable ironing board. When not needed, they all fold up and stick to the wall.

6. Magnetic Walls:

A friend of mine told me this trick, and when I did it, my kitchen life became much easier. I had seen this at his house, too. After that, I got my entire kitchen wall magnetized. Now I put all my pans, spoons, and knives on that wall. What an amazing trick, and a great idea. The space saved by this was amazing. Not only does it feel good, but whenever I cook, it becomes very easy for me.

7. Rolling Revolution:

This might seem funny to you, but it has made it very easy for me, as nothing is fixed in my house. You should also try this trick once, if you do it once, then you will definitely share this blog with someone. I have a rolling kitchen island, a rolling bar cart, and yes, a rolling bookshelf too. Whenever I want, I can take these things anywhere as per my need. Isn’t it an amazing trick?

8. Full Use of Height:

I made full use of the height of my house. I built shelves up to the ceiling, installed ceiling hooks where I hang plants, and even installed storage nets on the ceiling.

9. Transparent Magic:

This may also seem funny, but when you choose transparent things, then you will realize how good a trick it is. When I had to choose furniture, I fell for transparent furniture. I bought it without thinking, and I think it was the best decision. Transparent chairs, transparent tables, and transparent tables. Sometimes it feels as if there is no furniture, and whenever friends or relatives come, they too get surprised, but this makes the space in the flat look bigger.

10. The Power of Light:

I used smart lighting. Different types of lights, wall lights, floor lights, and ceiling lights. This keeps every corner well-lit and makes the house appear larger.

11. Multi-Level Storage:

I built storage on different levels. The lower level is for children, the middle level for adults, and the higher level for rarely used items.

12. Furniture With Wheels:

I installed wheels under every large furniture item. Now I can move my sofa, bed, and cupboard anywhere. Cleaning has also become easier.

13. Hidden Electronics:

I hid all wires and electronic devices. I built wireless charging stations, managed cable management, and everything looks neat and clean.

14. Convertible Spaces:

I made every room convertible. The drawing room can sometimes become an office, the bedroom can sometimes become a gym, and the balcony can sometimes become a garden.

15. Smart Kitchen:

I made the kitchen smart. Pull-out shelves, rotating racks, drop-down tables, everything to do more with less space.

16. Bathroom Innovations:

I also made innovations in the bathroom. Wall-mounted toilet, floating sink, corner shower, all space-saving.

17. Vertical Gardens:

I created gardens on the walls. In the kitchen for herbs, on the balcony for flowers, and in the drawing room for decorative plants.

18. Modular Furniture:

I chose modular furniture. Furniture that can transform into different shapes. Today square, tomorrow rectangular, later L-shaped.

19. Color Coded System:

I color-coded everything. Blue for the kitchen, green for the bedroom, yellow for the bathroom. This way, I can easily identify what goes where.

20. Digital Storage:

Finally, I eliminated paper storage. I made everything digital. Now I don’t have files, I have hard drives.

My Life Changed:

After making all these changes, my life completely changed. I feel good waking up in the morning. The house is clean. Things are easily found. Time is saved. Tension is reduced.

I’m telling you, you can do this too. You don’t need a big budget. You just need to change your thinking a little.
